The man accused of robbing a local convenience store in November has been indicted by the Claiborne County Grand Jury.

According to police, Jordon Tyrone Ford entered Kwik Shop Market, located at 2405 N. U.S. Hwy. 25E, around 9:13 p.m. on Nov. 27, 2011, and pulled a gun. He then allegedly pointed it at the clerk and demanded that she empty the register.

The clerk complied and the man ran out the door with approximately $210 in cash. When police arrived the clerk identified the man as Ford.

During the investigation at the store, a couple came to the scene and informed police that Ford had just come to their residence,

located on Welch Road a short distance from the store. They told the investigating officer Jeremy Myers of the Tazewell Police Department that Ford went into their basement, took off his clothes and ran into the woods.

Myers and other officers went to the residence and located Ford hiding in the woods.

Ford, 24, gave a full confession, according to the report, and was also positively identified by the store clerk.

Ford was taken to the Claiborne County Jail, where he was charged. The Grand Jury indicted Ford on the charge of aggravated robbery.

Several other indictments were handed down by the Claiborne County Grand Jury, including the following:

- Brenda Lee Jones, 45, driving on revoked license 2nd (two counts), violation of seatbelt law, DUI sixth offense, violation of implied consent law, simple possession Schedule IV, introduction of contraband into penal facility.

- Brandon Lloyd Cox, 26, DUI (two counts), violation of registration law.

- Sherry Diane Middleton, 40, DUI (two counts), driving without a license.

- Ivan Dale Burnette, 33, DUI 2nd, criminal impersonation, simple possession Sch. III, evading arrest, resisting arrest, driving on suspended license, failure to report as a sexual offender, violation of sex offender registration.

- Linzy M. Graves, 18, underage consumption.

- Brittaney Bayless, 19, underage consumption.

An indictment is only an accusation. It is not an indication of guilt.
