Tazewell Speedway releases schedule for new season

Racing fans, Tazewell Speedway has just released its 2013 schedule.

The season is set to open with the Cabin Fever 35 on March 23 and will feature family oriented events throughout the season including several kids nights and dollar hotdog nights. The World of Outlaws and Lucas Oil dirt late models will return for their annual visits plus the NeSmith series and Southern All-Stars. The Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals will be back once again plus other great dirt racing action.

There will be a Buster Cupp Memorial race in addition to the Charles Trammell, Buddy Rogers and Chris Collinsworth Memorial races. On Oct. 12, the speedway will host its first breast cancer awareness event. Gary and Shirlene Hall would like to invite everyone out to a great night of racing action. 2013 Schedule Of Events

The weekly race program consist of Tazewell (Limited) Late Models, Late Model Sportsman, Modified Streets, Pure Streets, Four Cylinders and Classic Cars. The schedule of events is tentative and is subject to change.

March 16 - Open Practice 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.

March 23 - Cabin Fever 35

$2,000 to win Tazewell Late Models, plus all other divisions and $1 hot dog night

March 30 - Rain date for Cabin Fever 35 or open practice

April 6 - Southern All-Stars, 4th Annual Charles Trammell Memorial $5,000 to win, plus other divisions TBA

April 13 - Weekly racing program

April 20 - Weekly racing program

April 27 - World of Outlaws Late Model Series, Rusty Wallace Cadillac-GMC-Kia 50 $10,000 to win, plus other divisions TBA

May 4 - Weekly racing program

May 11 - Modified Madness, Twin features for Modified Street plus all other divisions

May 18 - Weekly racing program plus $1 Hot Dog Night

May 25 - Kids’ Night, Foot races for kids (age 6-9 and 10-13) with bikes and trophies to each winner. Each kid will receive a free Tazewell Speedway T-shirt, with Weekly Racing Program

May 31 - (Friday) Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series Toyota of Knoxville 50 $10,000 to win plus other divisions TBA

June 1 - No racing

June 8- Pure Street Clash: twin features & double points plus all other divisions

June 15 - Kids’ Coin & Candy Toss plus racing in all divisions

June 22 - Sportsman Challenge: twin features & double points plus all other divisions

June 29 - $1 Hot Dog Night, racing full racing program

July 3 - (Wed.) Southern All-Stars $4,000 to win plus racing in other divisions TBA

July 5 - (Friday) Mid-season Championship $1,500 to win Tazewell Late Models, trophy to points leader in all divisions

July 13 - No racing

July 20 - Modified Madness: twin features & double points plus all other divisions

July 27 - Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals $5,300 to win plus other divisions TBA

Aug. 3 - Nickel Night: 20,000 free nickels for kids 14 and under plus full racing program

Aug. 10 - Chevrolet Performance Late Model Series $3,000 to win plus other divisions TBA

Aug. 17 - Fab 4’s Fiesta: twin features & double points plus all other divisions, Hot Summer’s Night Special - Free drink with purchase of hot dog or burger

Aug. 23 - (Friday) NeSmith Chevrolet Touring Series plus other divisions TBA

Aug. 31 - No racing

Sept. 1 - (Sunday) Southern All-Stars, 5th Annual Buddy Rogers Memorial $4,400 to win plus other divisions TBA

Sept. 7 - No racing

Sept. 14 - Buster Cupp Memorial $500 to win Pure Streets plus racing in all divisions

Sept. 21 - Candy Scramble for kids 9 and under plus Full Racing Program

Sept. 28 - Final points race plus $1 Hot Dog Night

Oct. 5 - 3rd Annual Fall Brawl Chris Collinsworth Memorial $2,000 to win Late Models, $2,000 to win Modified Streets

Oct. 12 - Breast Cancer Awareness, full racing program, wear pink Taz T-shirts for prizes plus $1 Hot Dog Night, (Rain date for Fall Brawl)

Oct. 19 - Championship Night, full racing program, points payoff and trophy presentation, must be present for payoff and trophy
