The Claiborne County Grand Jury handed down several indictments during the February session. The following people were indicted:
Coy Shaw Smith - Initiate Process to Manufacture Meth (seven counts); Promotion of Meth Manufacture (two counts); Resisting Arrest;
Christopher Dewayne Greene - Theft under $500;
Rick James Brock - Aggravated Assault (two counts);
Frances Billie Payne - Aggravated Child Abuse and Neglect; Delivery of Schedule IV Controlled Substance;
Sammy Lynn Poore - Promotion of Meth Manufacture; Simple Possession of Schedule II
Billy James Lovell - Violation of (Habitual Motor Vehicle Offender) HMVO Bar; Violation of Financial Responsibility Law;
Karen Jean Seager - DUI;
An indictment is only a charge until the accused is proven guilty in a court of law.
