The children at Kiddieland Day Care, better known as “RoRo’s Kids”, celebrated Dr. Seuss Day with a special visitor — the Cat in the Hat — who came to visit and to read to the children.
“The children were impressed that the cat was so nice, could read and had a long black tail,” said owner and operator Rose Ann Clark.
There was also a birthday party for Dr. Seuss with all the birthday favorites. Clark said she decided the day care and participants would give gifts to the Claiborne Animal Shelter as party gifts to Dr. Seuss.
“I am so proud of my day care parents,” she said. “We collected cat litter, cedar shavings, puppy food, doggie treats and doggie toys, plus we had a donation. It is a good thing when you can have fun and also do something nice for the community.”
The children read at least 10 books. They received a certificate for their efforts.
