Claiborne Progress

John Boyd Collett is on the run from authorities in connection to an especially aggravated robbery that occurred Tuesday night.

The man who was found not guilty in the 2008 death of a Claiborne County man will appear in court on Thursday, July 1, this time on the charge of especially aggravated robbery.

On Tuesday night, June 22, a call was made to Claiborne County 911 advising that Allen Myers of the 500 block of Arthur Road had been attacked with a shovel to the head.

Several items that belonged to Myers were missing including his wallet and his payroll check.

Captain David Honeycutt and Detective Anthony Veillon along with officers of the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office arrived to investigate the scene.

After gathering evidence and taking statements, the officers began a search for Ronnie Carroll and John Boyd Collett, both residents of Claiborne County.

Myers was flown immediately from Claiborne County to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. According to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, he is now home and is in stable condition.

Ronnie Carroll turned himself into authorities Wednesday afternoon. He is currently being held in the Claiborne County Jail with no bond and will appear in court on Thursday, July 1.

After two days of searching, John Boyd Collett surrendered to authorities on Thursday, June 24.

He was booked into the Claiborne County Jail on the charge of especially aggravated robbery. He was given a $100,000 bond.

Collett posted bond and was booked out on Friday, June 25.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, July 1.

I,was send in alert that mr."John Boyd,collett" turn himself and to the claiborne county authority,now we will have to wait until July-1 2010 to find out what the Judge will do to Mr.Collett, & Mr.Carroll, for Suspect robbery of Mr.Myers, I'm please to learn that Alan myers,is at home in and stable.We are living and dangerous times nowdays.I hope they did't take Alan,money that he had to take care of his personal needs.Justice should be serve in this matter.

how can a dog like this get bond after what he did 2 years ago?The other man is still in jail 4 a crime that he had help with and were is john getting all this money from after his bond 2yrs. his parents had 2 put up there house and every thing just for that and you no that aint paid 4.So to whoever is helping that P.O.S you need to STOP or his going 2 keep killing and hurting people and it may be you that he gos after.

I am very concern about the where about Jonn Boyd collett. is as of now.time is getting worst and we all must be careful now days.I read where the the man turn him self in,however i've not never heard whether John Boyd collett has catch or turn his self and.let's all be careful and be on the lookout until we findout whether he's been catch in is lock up or on the run.

Its been almost 2yrs. to the day when this low life of a man murdered my cousins father Bruce Allen Greer.You let this P.O.S off once will you let him go again claiborne county jury,what more do you need to put a DOG like this in were he belongs.Do you think ever 2 years that you can stand putting another trail on him thats more taxes on us and his sure not worth my money,if all i care bout someone like this he can burn alive and suffer.Its bad that familys has to go through so much pain over a thing like him.Just think if he gets out of this one burry someone every 2yrs. can the court system and the people of claiborne handle it i no i cant so you better do something about this animal or you are going to have a time and a half with this one. This is crazy this man took my dads life with a 9 mm hand gun got off scott free now i hope every one that was on the jury that day is happy i knew this would happen again it was only a matter of time now another family has to suffer due to this man harming one of their own and guess what if he would have been put away when he murdered my father this would have never happen!Please Claibourne County do something about this man for mine nad Allen Myers family!

keep the doors locked, and everything else, people like this should not even be let go , he should have been sent to prison for what he did to bruce greer, BUT if they sent people like this off, the public defenders and low life lawyers wouldnt have anyway to make money, but he killed one of thier family members it would be a diffrent story, they would have got life for something like that........its always been like this and always will around this town, If you dont have the last name......you dont have nothing, bunch of crooked people in the court house and jail , they dont care about us regular folks, they just care about thier jobs, although thier jobs is to protect and serve...HA....most the time they dont do that.....

The man got off scott free for murdering Bruce Greer,and look what has happened.

AS long as people get away with crime,they will do it again.

Lock them doors,keep your children inside until this perp is caught.

If they would have convicted him the first time he MURDERED Bruce Greer , then they wouldnt be looking for him again, this is classic claiborne county justice for you, you kill someone, you get slapped on the wrist, you kill a deer from the roadside , you get more time for that than the murder of a man, this is so sad that this so called man has killed another person, and the bad thing is it could be a very long time, and he could kill another, this man does not and did not deserve to be let go the first time, hope the DA or whoever defended him feels so good that they got this man off for murder, HAHAHAHA....guess what he did it again.......he need to be put in prison , and never to see the light of day again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he is nothing but a P.O.S
