On Tuesday night, June 22, a call was made to Claiborne County 911 advising that Allen Myers of the 500 block of Arthur Road had been attacked with a shovel to the head.
Several items that belonged to Myers were missing including his wallet and his payroll check.
Captain David Honeycutt and Detective Anthony Veillon along with officers of the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office arrived to investigate the scene.
After gathering evidence and taking statements, the officers began a search for Ronnie Carroll and John Boyd Collett, both residents of Claiborne County.
Myers was flown immediately from Claiborne County to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. According to the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, he is now home and is in stable condition.
Ronnie Carroll turned himself into authorities Wednesday afternoon. He is currently being held in the Claiborne County Jail with no bond and will appear in court on Thursday, July 1.
After two days of searching, John Boyd Collett surrendered to authorities on Thursday, June 24.
He was booked into the Claiborne County Jail on the charge of especially aggravated robbery. He was given a $100,000 bond.
Collett posted bond and was booked out on Friday, June 25.
He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, July 1.
