Neighbors pitching in

Courtesy Photo Local businesses, organizations and individuals immediately began work when word of the devastating wildfires that swept through nearby Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge hit the news last week. The Claiborne Progress and Harlan Daily Enterprise collected well over 1,000 items that were taken to Lincoln Memorial University for transport via a tractor-trailer full of items from all over the area. We want to thank both the communities for their donations and LMU for allowing us to help with their efforts. We will have more on the efforts of neighbors helping neighbors in future editions and on our website, www.claiborneprogress.net.
