Lincoln Memorial University’s University Medical Clinic (UMC) recently celebrated its grand opening in a new location.
The clinic is now located in the old C&C Office Supply and Radio Shack building in New Tazewell.
The public was welcomed to the grand opening reception and ribbon cutting by LMU’s chairman of the board of trustees, O.V. “Pete” DeBusk. Dr. Michael Wieting of LMU’s DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Dr. Nicole Shields, director of the UMC, also spoke.
Businessman Danny England welcomed the UMC to the new location.
The UMC is now open at its 14,000 square foot location. Both the New Tazewell and Harrogate locations are open to the public and accept most major insurance plans. In addition to primary care, UMC services include preventive care, child psychiatry, diabetic care, pediatric care, women’s health, gynecology, early prenatal care, geriatrics, smoking cessation, sports medicine, osteopathic manipulation, and physical medicine and rehabilitation. UMC also offers comprehensive childhood and adult immunization programs, joint injections, allergy shots, on-site laboratory studies, x-ray and ultrasound services.
Currently, the UMC has two pediatricians on staff, Ava Stanczak, DO, FACOP and Jeffrey Mann, DO, FACOP, as well as many family physicians who see children on a regular basis. UMC is also pleased to offer specialty care by John Williamson, MD, one of the few board certified OB/GYNs in the tri-state area, and Dwan Perry, DO, a physical medicine and rehabilitation/sports medicine specialist.
The UMC, operated by Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM) has two locations in Harrogate and New Tazewell.
