Middlesboro ARH will host a women’s health series, Lunch & Learn on June 16. The luncheon offers insight and tips on a variety of women’s health issues.
Dr. Rogelio Uy, endocrinology and adult medicine at MARH, will speak on the importance of annual screenings for diabetes and thyroid disease.
Dr. Uy completed an internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Illinois in Chicago.
As an endocrinologist, Dr. Uy examines patients and diagnoses illnesses of pituitary, adrenal, thyroid and hypothalamus glands. He tests for signs and symptoms of hormone disorders such as osteoporosis, diabetes and thyroid malfunction, and serves as a primary care physician and hospital chief of staff.
The lunch will be held in the hospital classroom located near the MRI entrance at the back of the hospital. Lunch will be served at noon with the program starting at 12:15 p.m. and ending at 12:45 p.m.
There will be a drawing for a door prize.
