MIDDLESBORO, Ky. – Local business leader Justin Mays spent much of 2015 building a new business center at 1475 Hwy. US 25E, moving his State Farm Insurance business into the new facility just days before Christmas. The much-anticipated grand opening celebration will be held on Jan. 15 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the new facility in Middlesboro. The public is invited.
Mays, a top-ranked agent with State Farm Insurance who made the Top 15 national list of State Farm agents in 2015, has been serving the insurance needs of local families for the past eight years. Often described as a homegrown country boy, this Bell County native understands what it takes to be a good neighbor.
“I grew up on a family farm in Bell County. For many generations, my family has had a beef cattle and hay operations business, and four generations have worked in the coal industry,” shared Mays. “I come from a long line of hardworking men who have always valued family and good neighbors. Part of being a good neighbor is looking out for the whole family and as a State Farm agent, I’m proud to carry on the State Farm legacy. I went from growing my business from scratch to assisting thousands of families with their insurance needs.”
When Mays began his State Farm Insurance business, he kept his focus on its mission and vision: “To build a business based on friendships, a strong work ethic, and financial soundness. To become the insurance and financial service provider of choice in our community. The friendships gained will be our number one priority. Our office will provide professional, efficient, and friendly customer service. Community involvement will strengthen relationships and give us the opportunity to grow.”
“Every day for the last eight years, I have been committed to fulfilling my mission through developing friendships with customers and going the extra mile to help when an unexpected event happens,” said Mays. “I was taught this as a child — it’s what any good neighbor does.”
Mays’ commitment to his customers has in turn made his business grow. He now has a team of 10 to handle customer needs.
“I’m very proud of my team,” stated Mays. “They are customer-focused, friendly and efficient, which makes us a strong team.”
Mays also wants the community to know that throughout the building process, he used all local labor and purchased 90 percent of building materials from several local businesses.
“I’m a local boy, and I believe in supporting other local businesses,” said Mays.
The new State Farm business center also is the new home for the Bell County Clerk’s Office, which is located in Suite 4. Other tenants include Batteries & More which sells all kinds of batteries from hearing aid batteries to heavy equipment batteries, and they are located in Suite 5. Champion Physical Therapy, previously called Tri-State Physical Therapy, is now located in Suite 6.
The new Justin Mays State Farm business center in Middlesboro is located between Bisceglia Realty and Cumberland Ford.
Mays and his wife Jamie have been married 16 years, and they reside in Bell County with their two sons Alex, 13 and Ty, 6.
