Lincoln Memorial University’s Women of Service will present its annual Service, Sweets and Style for Scholarships Fashion Show at 6 p.m. on Aug. 18, in the Tex Turner Arena.

The fundraiser will feature fall fashions from Lily Pulitzer, Silk Purse, Janice Ann’s, Belk, Signatures, Talbots, Crater City Boutique and Cato modeled by members of the WOS organization, LMU faculty, staff and students and community members. Additionally, vendors selling clothing, jewelry, Thirty-one, Pampered Chef, Nerium, crafts and more will have booths for shopping. A decadent dessert buffet is included in the ticket price of $20 and a reduced student/child’s ticket is available for $10.

Lynn Duncan will be honored with the Woman of Service Award during the event. The award was created to recognize exemplary women who are making a difference in the communities that LMU serves. Duncan, the wife of Congressman John J. Duncan Jr., first served LMU as a trustee before joining the division of University Advancement as a development officer. During her tenure, she raised well over a $1 million in gifts and grants. She retired earlier this year, and is serving as a member of the LMU Board of Trustees once again. Duncan has served many other organizations in East Tennessee including the Boys and Girls Clubs. The Duncans reside in Knoxville and have four grown children and 10 grandchildren.

WOS Scholarship recipient and LMU valedictorian Abigail Bellamy will co-host the event with LMU alumnae Kelli Parker, host of The Good Life with Kelli Parker on Fox 43. Door prizes will also be given away during the evening.

Established in 2011, the LMU Women of Service is open to all women who want to help students at Lincoln Memorial University. By living as an example of service, WOS members teach LMU students about the incredibly important mission of service to humanity. With proceeds from activities like the WOS Christmas Festival and the Service, Sweets & Style for Scholarships fashion show, WOS funds student scholarships, provides family aid and cultural enrichment opportunities to LMU students.
