Sheriff David Ray of The Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office announced today that Homicide Charges have been upgraded in the case of Tony Harrison. According to Sheriff Ray, Tony Harrison has now been charged with 1st Degree Murder in connection to the death of his wife Vickie Harrison.

Vickie Harrison was allegedly strangled to death at her residence 145 Mariah Lane in New Tazewell TN. Captain David Honeycutt of the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office has been quoted as saying that circumstantial and direct evidence was the key factors in the upgrading of this case. A trial date has been set for Wednesday July 29, 2009.

Sheriff Ray also stated that this investigation is ongoing and will continue to be investigated by the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office and the TN Bureau of Investigation until this case is resolved in court. Vickie Harrison leaves behind two children ages 10 and 6 who were present in the residence at the time of her death.
