Some people say Powell Valley may have the most talented team across the board of any middle school team in Claiborne County. Their scoring is done by many people instead of just a few. They went up to Forge Ridge Nov. 10 and using that “across the board” scoring went home with a 43-17 victory.

This Indians team jumped on the Dragons early and finished the first period leading 11-3.

They kept it going in the second period but the Dragons gave their all and both teams finished the second period with seven points. The visitors held an eight point advantage at 18-10 at halftime.

The third period was likely the Indians’ best of the game as they placed 15 on the board while giving up only four points.

They finished out the final period by scoring 10 and giving up three.

In the end, it was a convincing win at 43-17 for the Indians and they have laid the claim down that they are indeed the middle school team to beat this season.

The scoring was led by Dylan Ellison with nine points. Lance Owens had eight, Cody Johnson seven and Lane Graves finished with four points. Three others scored three each, including Jon Graves, Blake Baker and Jack Osborne. Three other Indians scored two points each: Justin Moore, Edward McGraw and Riley Edwards.

The Dragons were led in scoring by Malachi Sandefur with six points. Three others scored three each: Andrew Sutton, Nick Bray and Brian Baker. Clint Crockett finished with two points.
