Ethan Ellison is a junior quarterback at Cumberland Gap High School. In his third year as a Panther, He’s looking forward to taking the field when the new season begins August 28. Being a little more seasoned as a player and leader, Ellison hopes his team can reach the success his coaches expect.

When asked how pre-season practices have been leading up to now, Ellison stated, “We have had a lot more kids out this season and we have some hard working, good athletes and I think we’ll have a good team.”

“I think the way we are running our offense this year will get more people involved and help our team by getting the ball to many different players,” said Ellison.

When asked what would constitute a winning season to him Ellison said, “A winning season for us is simply winning a lot of games. I’d like to see us win maybe nine or ten games, and that is honestly what I’m expecting, but if we take the number of wins out of the equation — a winning season is everyone coming together and working hard and doing what we are supposed to do.”

The Panthers are continuing their final practices, and are scrimmaging in preparation of the opening game against Hancock County.
