The Sunrise ‘n’ Shine car show was held May 23 at the Claiborne County Fairgrounds.

It was a beautiful day for a car show as several owners of classic, muscle, race cars, motorcycles, jeeps and trucks brought their vehicles for show. The beautiful machines were shined up for display but were also there to help the Sunrise Church youth group help raise funds for future projects and trips.

After a long day of fun, it was announced that they took in nearly $1,000 and all the proceeds went directly to the kids. The trophies were even paid for before the show.

Allen Sulfridge, director of the show, was pleased with the turnout and said, “I am delighted to see such a great turnout for our first car show. We have some great looking vehicles out here today and this makes us think that we’ll have to consider making this an annual event.” Sulfridge continued, “I’d like to thank everyone who came out and volunteered.”
