New Tazewell senior league baseball set to play in the state championship game today

With their second win over Greeneville, the New Tazewell All Stars senior league baseball team moved into the Tennessee State Championship July 13. The Greeneville game July 12 started late and ended in the early morning hours but when it was over the New Tazewell fan base was celebrating an historic tournament run that will end with the best finish ever by a New Tazewell All Star baseball team. The New Tazewell team will have to defeat a Putnam County team that has one win over them already. That win was a controversial one in which Putnam barely won the contest. New Tazewell knows that they can defeat this team and will try today at 5:30 p.m. to do just that. Enjoy this photo gallery from last night’s game and look for more on this website and in the next edition of the Claiborne Progress.
