The Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals Series came to Tazewell Speedway July 30 and despite battling the occasional rain shower the track officials prepared an ultra-fast racing surface.

The Team Zero machine sponsored by local businessman Mike Reece and Reece Monuments ripped off fast time during qualifying (10.981 seconds) and nearly lapped the entire field on his way to a $10,000 paycheck.

The top ten finishers were as follows:

1. 0 Scott Bloomquist

2. 8V Craig Vosbergen

3. 1G Devin Gilpin

4. 1 Vic Hill

5. 28 Jeff Wolfenbarger

6. 7 Donald McIntosh

7. 10 Chad Ogle

8. 50 Shanon Buckingham

9. 11 Tommy Bailey

10. 21M Robby Moses.

Matt Tharp got the amazing win in Sportsman finishing with a badly torn up machine and a hood in his face after contact with a lap car. Cody Smith was second and local driver Jonathan Miracle captured the third position.

Eddie Stewart defeated Local driver Brad Davis for the Super Stock victory and Austin Neely winner of last week’s feature finished fourth.

John Stevens grabbed the checkers in the Classic Car feature over Logan Dukes and Justin Overton. For more information on future events log on to www.tazewellspeedway.net.
