Hazel Mullins, age 89, a life-long resident of Claiborne County was born on November 28, 1918 and passed away on October 19, 2008. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her Parents: Charlie and Mertie Brown; Husband: Huey Mullins; Daughter: Katherine Elaine Upton; Brother: Robert Paul Brown; Sister: Bonnie Johnson.

She is survived by Daughters: Lois Sowders and husband Tim of Shawanee, Tenn., Irene Liford and husband Floyd of New Tazewell, Tenn., Eula Becket of New Tazewell, Tenn., Joan Pillion and husband Oscar of Tazewell, Tenn.; Brother: Claude Brown of Indianapolis, IN; Sisters: Gladys Campbell of New Tazewell, Tenn., Mae Duncan of Luttrell, Tenn.; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 21, 2008 from 5 until 7 p.m. in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. with Reverend Jimmy Poore and Reverend Brian Liford officiating. Music will be provided by Brenda Bolden and Mt. Zion Singers. Family and friends will meet Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Burch Cemetery for graveside services.
