Hazel Sweat Cardwell, age 89 of New Tazewell, TN passed away October 23, 2008 at her home. Hazel was born in LaFollette on September 3, 1919. She was a kind, loving mother, who always put her children and grandchildren first in her life. She loved flowers, and took pride in her flowers and vegetable garden. She loved to watch them grow, as she did with everything.

She was preceded in death by her Husband: Lester Cardwell; Parents: Douglas and Anne McNeely Sweat; Brother: Merle Sweat: Sisters: Addie Ayers, Stella, Ida, Jamie, Carrie, Helen, Mae, and Pearl Sweat.

She is survived by her Son: Doug Cardwell and wife Frances; Daughter: Sandra Bundren and husband Leonard; Grandchildren: Allen Cardwell, Christopher Cardwell, and Michael Bundren.

The family will receive friends Friday, October 24, 2008 from 5 until 7 p.m. at Claiborne Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 7 p.m. in the Claiborne Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend I. J. Meyers and Reverend Tommy Russell officiating. Music will be provided by Barbara Hatfield. Family and friends will meet Saturday, October 25, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Fords Chapel Cemetery for graveside services.

Pallbearers: Michael Bundren, Allen Cardwell, Christopher Cardwell, Dave Chesney, Jimmy Rosenbalm, Jim Carmon, Sammy Cardwell, and Gary Cardwell.
