It is that time of year again for the Jaycee fairgrounds to be covered with carnival rides and families from all around Claiborne County to gather for the fun and entertainment.
Starting on Monday, August 31, the gates will open each night at 5:00 p.m. and this year when you enter you will be offered the chance to win a $500.00 gas card for $2.00 a ticket or you can purchase 6 tickets for $10.00.
Volunteers with the fair association gathered back in January to begin preparation for this year’s fair. Members of the association look forward to bringing in people from the Claiborne County area as well as out of Grainger and Hancock counties and out of Kentucky and Virginia areas.
The fair entertainment schedule will be running on almost the same schedule that ran last year and for dates and times on the entertainment schedule, check out the tab in this weeks paper.
The fair grounds were opened 53 years ago by association members and have been passed down throughout generations. Businesses boast that over the years the week of the fair tends to be one of the busiest weeks throughout the year.
Along with security provided by members of the Claiborne County Sheriff’s Office, members of the fair association will also be walking around the fair to ensure the safety of everyone there.
Don’t forget the tab in this week’s paper will have more information on this year’s fair.
