Panthers sweep Thomas Walker 19-2, 27-0

The Cumberland Gap Panthers improved to 9-7 on the season after sweeping a double-header against Thomas Walker on Saturday. The Panthers won the first game 19-2 and the second 27-0.
Tate Murphy paced the offense in game one with two hits, including a home run. He drove in four runs, scored three and added three stolen bases.
Jaden Pearman and Kole Carter both had two RBI and three runs scored in the game while Hudson Harris and Neil Bunch also had hits. Hunter Gibson walked three times, stole two bases and scored three runs for Cumberland Gap.
George Capps picked up the win on the mound after giving up two runs on two hits over four innings. He struck out 10 and walked two.
It was more of the same in game two. Carter had three hits, including a double, to drive in five runs to lead the Panther offense. He also scored four runs. Pearman drove in four runs on two hits and scored three runs and Noah Meyer had two hits, two RBI and two runs scored. Bunch scored three runs and he and Murphy also had hits in the game. Gibson walked four times and scored three runs.
Murphy picked up the win after pitching two perfect innings with three strikeouts. Eli Reed struck out one over one inning without allowing a base runner.
Cumberland Gap (9-7) was scheduled to visit Gibbs for a double-header on Monday and then play at Middlesboro on Thursday.
