Lucille Brooks Bailey Lay, 91

Lucille Brooks Bailey Lay, age 91, of Tazewell TN was born on July 23, 1933 and went to be with the Lord on April 6, 2025.

She was a proud Christian and attended Union Chapel Baptist Church until she was no longer physically able. In her spare time Lucille enjoyed doing puzzles and painting ceramics, but more than anything she enjoyed her time with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents Tilmon and Annie Brooks, spouses Sillius Bailey and Andrew Jay Lay, grandchild Christopher Wolfenbarger, sisters Mattie (Cecil) Venable, Mabel (Marvin) Goodin, Margaret (Bruce) Brooks, brother Tim (Kay) Brooks Jr., brothers-in-law Don Brooks and Doug Harbin, Nephew Jerry Venable.

She is survived by her children Milton (Margie) Bailey, Judy (Steve) Schweitzer, and Larry (Dawn) Bailey. Grandchildren Beth (Billy) Moyers, David (Teresa) Johnson, Charles (Melanie) Johnson, Peter Bailey, and Trevor (Shelby) Bailey. Several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Sisters Marjorie Brooks and Jean Harbin. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday April 10, 2025 from 5 until 8 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be on Friday April 11, 2025 at 11 AM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel. A graveside service will follow in the Pleasantview Cook Cemetery.
