Thursday morning April 24, 2025, Claiborne County Jail staff found 48-year-old inmate Jeremy Lynn Eastridge unresponsive in a cell. Efforts by the staff to revive Eastridge were unsuccessful.

Eastridge was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased and his body has been sent for an autopsy.

At the request of Sheriff Bob Brooks and 8th Judicial District Attorney General Jared Effler, TBI agents are investigating the circumstances leading to the death of Eastridge.

At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing.
