Commercial BancGroup, Inc., holding company of Commercial Bank based in Harrogate, announced four new branches that opened Jan. 2 with the introduction of a new Morristown branch located at 225 West 1st Street, Morristown, and the finalized purchase of Citizens Bank with its three branch locations in New Tazewell, Harrogate and Morristown.

This acquisition makes Commercial Bank the twelfth largest community bank in the state of Tennessee with total assets approaching $1.2 billion.

Terry Lee, CEO of Commercial Bank said about the acquisition, “Not only are we able to extend our products, services, and proven commitment to our new Claiborne County customer base, but we also are thrilled to bring the love of community for which Commercial Bank is known to Hamblen County with the simultaneous opening of two branches in Morristown. These two branch locations will allow us to introduce technologies, products, and services that will help those new customers thrive and grow.”
