Muriel B. Edwards of Jefferson City, TN, passed away on April 25, 2025, at the age of 86. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Muriel was born in Claiborne County TN, in 1939, the youngest of three children. She married Dewel Edwards in Claiborne County on February 9, 1963. They moved to Jefferson County, TN, where she volunteered at Jefferson Elementary School for many years working in the office and school clinic. Muriel was a loving mother and grandmother with many friends. She was always there to help in any way she could. Muriel is survived by her son, Dean Edwards of Knoxville, TN, and two grandsons, Daniel and Noble whom she loved very much. Muriel was proceeded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dewel Edwards, parents Dewey and Pearl Cox, sister Bonnie Stansberry, and brother Robert Cox. Muriel will lie in state at Farrar Funeral Home in Jefferson City, TN, from 5-7 PM on Wednesday, April 30 followed by a graveside service at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Thursday, May 1 at 11 AM.
